Russian media heavyweight Sistema Mass-media and prominent Indian broadcaster Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd. signed the Letter of Intent on collaboration in TV content distribution and broadcast in India, Russia and a few other nations in Europe, Asia and North America.
This was part of the agenda of official visit to India by Russian president Dmitry Medvedev.
Sistema will provide the Zee’s channels the opportunity to attain distribution on Sistema’s associate networks. Zee will facilitate Sistema to launch its TV channels in Indian, European and Northern American territories.
Both media giants will also exchange television content, co-produce TV films and programs. They also explore the possibility of launching a joint TV channel between Zee CIS LLC and Sistema Mass-media. The companies also agreed on the mutual acquisition of contents to air on the networks of Sistema Mass-media and Zee Entertainment.
Indian, the first Russian TV series, shot in Bollywood (starring Panchi Bora) and dubbed in Hindi, has been telecasted by Zee Smile channel for India and a few Asian territories in the prime time slots on December 18-23, 2010.
Zee runs Zee Russia channel with news coverage on Russia and the CIS. Sistema’s Hunting And Fishing TV channel will soon be telecasted in India thanks to the efforts of Zee.
