Zeynep Ozbatur wins European Co-Production Award

Zeynep Ozbatur, a prominent producer from Istanbul, Turkey, becomes the winner of the fourth edition of the European co-production award – Prix EURIMAGES. The award acknowledges the role of producers, who join forces with European production companies to develop and promote European cinema.

This news was announced at the “New Cinema Network” in Rome attended by a large number of professionals from the cinema industry and the press.

Ms. Ozbatur is prominent for financing and creativity across European boarders, who runs acclaimed Istanbul-based Zeyno Film Production. Her first feature was the German-Turkish co-production Lola+Bilidikid (1999). Among her recent credits were award-winning Turkish-French-Italian Three Monkeys and Turkish-French Climates, both directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan and supported by Eurimages.

She is also involved in training young professionals in the Turkish cinema industry.

The 44-year-old producer will receive the Prix Euroimages at the ceremony for the European Film Awards in Tallinn, Estonia on Saturday December 4, 2010.

Eurimages is a support fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works, established by the Council of Europe in 1988.
