25th Mar del Plata International Film Festival already has its winners. Silver Astors were awarded to film director Alexei Fedorchenko and screenwriter Denis Osokin for Silent Souls.
The silent souls appear in particular and beautiful way in this powerful film by the Russian director Alexei Ferdochenko. It presents an inevitable grief that provokes death. It also becomes a journey into memories, costumes, rituals with pain, memories and nostalgia for those who do not exist any more and the inevitable uncertainty for those who still live.
Silent Souls shows landscapes in a subtle sad way, surrounded by redeeming water with singing bird in a small cage.
