Berlin. The 6th Russian Film Week is held on November 24-30, 2010 to showcase new contemporary Russian films.

Traditionally the opening starts at the Kino International of Berlin. Traditionally the auditorium is packed and guest filmmakers (producers, actors and scriptwriters from Russia) take the front-row seats.

The Week is opened by Alexei Uchitel’s The Edge which runs for Academy Award as an international contender. Polar psycho-thriller How I Spent This Summer by Alexei Popogrebsky, the winner of current Berlinale’s Silver Bear Awards will be screened in Delphi FilmPalast.

The other films are showcased at the Kino Arsenal, Potsdammerstrase and the Russian House of Culture in Friedrichstrasse, Berlin Mitte:

  • Garry Bardin touching musical animation Ugly duckling based on Hans Christian Andersen famous fairy-tale (75 min)
  • eye-opening feature JAZZ-Style by Stanislav Govorukhin
  • Orange Juice by Andrei Proshkin
  • Olga Subbotina’s melodrama About Love
  • Alexander Chernyaev’s romantic comedy The Irony Of Love
  • tough-life family drama The Son by Larisa Sadilova
  • Man At The Window by Dmitry Meskhiev
  • Beware – kids! about true friendship

The 6th Russian Film Week is organized by Moscow-based Interfest with support from The Russian Ministry of Culture and Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin with Berlin-based agency «Interkultura Kommunikation».

The event is patronized by Bürgermeister of Berlin Klaus Wowereit and Russian Ambassador in Germany Vladimir Grinin. The Film Week’s general (and traditional) sponsor is GAZPROM Germania GmbH.
